A thank you letter
By now I’m sure you all have heard or Ryan’s retirement from the Relics Of Orr podcast. There’s a lot of emotions that bubble to the surface from this. I’ve seen the community express sadness, confusion, anger, and mourning – this is a wake.
Many have stepped up to the casket said their parting words, wiped away a tear and with a sigh muttered “now what?”. I too stepped forward, mentioned a few parting words, and let out that sigh. It was a fun run…really fun…in fact I had a ball getting lost in the audio realm that was Relics Of Orr! I’d head to work and look forward to that slot of time when I’d get a chance to pop on the headphones for that blast of joy that comes from that theme park of high fives for ear holes. Ahhhh, it was a get away, a vacation from reality, my ears would sit back and crack open a frosty brew and smile.

Relics of Orr: Phat Lewt – The Results
After much deliberating the judges have finally decided on the winners for the Phat Lewt competition. Thanks to the entrants for their imaginative creations & taking the time to record them for our amusement. Without further ado…
In third place is Tom Cools with his birthday message, recorded over some suitable epic music composed by him and clips of the show. He has won a Guild Wars Nightfall Art book, a Guild Wars Factions Art book, a Guild Wars Factions Poster and a Guild Wars Prophecies Art book. Well done sir!
Things Left Unshown
An on and off project between Shaun with Conjure Phantasm and I was taking place before I opted to close up shop. It’s of no use to us now, but these are some of the proposed layouts that were going to eventually amount to the new face of Relics of Orr. And it was on and off because there were a few points where the show almost ended in the past months, but we would be mildly invigorated and try some more.
I know many people are still waiting on a more thorough explanation of what has the show coming to an end. It seems sudden to the listeners, I understand, so it can be jilting. I’m having some conversations I’ve wanted to have for a long time, though, and since they are taking place, I want them to play out before I say anything more about all of this. I hope you can appreciate the intentions. Read more…
The Bar Brawl: Birthday Bonanza
With just over 24 hours until the close of our birthday competition for merchandise and art, the Bar Brawl this week turns to the subject of birthday presents. Obviously its nice to mark the anniversary of a game’s release with some kind of token of appreciation, but even more personal when its your character’s birthday (even if they are fully grown when they’re “born”). ArenaNet have graced our Guild Wars characters with minipets and tonics to mark their passage around the virtual sun, and cupcakes galore when it comes to marking the game’s release.
We know from the Hall of Monuments rewards that minipets will be returning in Guild Wars 2, but would you want them to come back as a staple of your character’s birthday or like something a little more imaginative? How do you want the release date to be marked in game?

Hello from Minecraft!
It’s a girl!
Hey all, I am very sorry to have suddenly dropped off in the Relics blog-o-sphere awesomeness. But as some of you may have already heard I am now a shiny new (poop covered, sleep deprived (and loving every minute of it!)) dad! 6lbs of adorable stole my heart and my free time. 
She is now a bit over 2 months old and I can cry she’s so stinking cute (evidence!!).
Since the future source of my gray hairs has much of my attention, my hardcore GW withdrawls have been some what eased with 8-bit block love and SSSSSSSSSSS FEAR….Minecraft! I can easily come and go and even mine with child snoozing in the other hand. Minecraft sooths the Lego Maniac in me! Read more…
