Sunday, September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day! Don’t forget to tell your wife or girlfriend in your best pirate voice, “of all the wenches in all the scurvy ports I have been to, you be the prettiest wench of all. Now be a good lass and fetch some ale!” if she ignores the request but replies with “but your breath already stinks of strong spirits and buxom bettys (then slaps you in the face)” THEN SHE IS A KEEPER!! Now hop in game & farm some booty & drink some Grog!
Guild Wars 2 prediction: Mesmers. My guildie, Fend, likes to make GW2 predictions. One of his more awesome sounding, yet strangly accurate, predictions was that Mesmers will be, well, pirates!
I think that mesmers will be more of a loose “battlemage” type class that uses swords and pistols. Awesome, right?
Sword wielding, pistol whipping, spell casting, swashbuckling battle-mages a.k.a. Mesmers! Think about it, they already look much more “pirate” then any other class in GW & we now have pistols! When I heard his theory I was excited about the idea of playing a pirate-style character in the GW2 world. My brain started churning (a rare event) and I thought about playing a Mesmer as an Asura….mech battle suits….pirate mesmers….ROBOT PIRATES!

My question is, how are they going to implement the mechanics/playstyles of the Mesmer with the pistol/wand/staff/etc? Is the pistol going to be more “trick shot” or interrupts or what?
since GW2 is based largely on the type of weapon used I’m guessing it is as simple as that. You equip a pistol for pistol skills, wand for wand skills, etc.
The pistol could work as a nice interrupt since, well, bullets are fast, lol. But this is a mere prediction based on the visual style of the mesmer and the new weapons available for GW2. Who knows how accurate anything is, but (in my opinion) it sounds like awesome fun!
with a class like that why would anyone play anything else? i would love an unexpected class reveal. everyone to this point has been pretty blah
