Relics of Orr: Phat Lewt – The Results

After much deliberating the judges have finally decided on the winners for the Phat Lewt competition.  Thanks to the entrants for their imaginative creations & taking the time to record them for our amusement.  Without further ado…

In third place is Tom Cools with his birthday message, recorded over some suitable epic music composed by him and clips of the show.  He has won a Guild Wars Nightfall Art book, a Guild Wars Factions Art book, a Guild Wars Factions Poster and a Guild Wars Prophecies Art book.  Well done sir!

Secondly we have Book, who sang us a barbershop quartet version of the Happy Birthday song.  Short but very very sweet.  His efforts have nabbed him a  Guild Wars 2 Art book, a Guild Wars Nightfall Art book, a Guild Wars Factions Art book, a Guild Wars Factions Poster and a Guild Wars Prophecies Art book.  Hope you enjoy the large amount of art coming your way.

Much congratulations to our winner, GhostBoy who penned and produced a parody of Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours”, entitled “Relics For Sure”.  The words are a little hard to make out at times but luckily he included the lyrics in his email and you can find them at the end of this post. $40 of Relics of Orr merchandise is coming his way very soon.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy the entries as much as we enjoyed receiving them.  Thanks everyone!

Lyrics to Relics For Sure

Well it’s been one solar circumnavigation
I think this calls for a modest celebration
get crazy like King Lear
just kill less while we’re here
On a scale from one to ten, where six is great and ten perfection
and one is awesomesauce, the scale is silly on reflection
you did alright, I’d say
the podcast made my day
So I will say congrats
happy birthday
good game Relics of Orr
Lots of people think that you’re unique
just about a thousand every week
just think a bit on that and feel the love, love, love, love
Listen to them tangelize the subject and then cock it up
if you get bored, you just press stop
and then tune in again to show the love, love, love, love, love
So I will say congrats
happy birthday
you will go on, I’m sure; we know you
need to hear you’re great
I’ll keep it short
good game Relics of Orr
D-d-do do you, but would you really d-do
a show on intertubes
on a game that isn’t here
what is this madness I hear?
I’ve been spending way too long just making sense of rhyme and reason
the long and short is thankfully you’ll stay another season
*togo*In guild wars you will see…*togo*
Shut up Togo, I’m singing!
I’m running out of lines here, so get ready for the chorus
it keeps repeating long enough that maybe it will bore us
Beware ad-libs amok
press stop now, I kid not
So I will say congrats
happy birthday
good game Relics of Orr
Do yourself a favor now, sit down and just tune in
it always takes a long while to begin
but after all the chat you’ll find the – the big score
So listen, listen to them
there’s no need to be so sore
cause this shit is good
this is, this is Relics of Orr
for sure!

  1. My price is at my home right now ^^ thank you, the artbooks are amazing.

    Greetings
    Thief

    • Good to know it got there safe. The lady at the post office looked at me strangely when I handed over the package with your handle on it :D

  2. Tom Th!ef0f$oc!ety Cools

I know what you mean, i got the same reaction from the mailman (my father). Tom “blablabla” Cools. He couldn’t even read the handle AT ALL. Still i’m gonna stick with the handle, even tho it is kind of … well… stupid to call your GW2 Thief “Thief of Society”, i’m still gonna do it :p.

  3. GhostBoy

Cools, maybe there is a title called “of Society” and you can simply be “Thief”…. good luck getting that name btw.

I’ve been meaning to write a congratulations to my fellow winners (this is the part where, were this the Oscars, you’d say nominees, but I know there were only the three of us, so…). It was very interesting to hear the different takes on what a birthday greeting is. And of course thanks to the ryan, christian and tasha for letting me WINWINWINWINWIN… ahem. :)

    • Well, it was said i could reserve names i used in GW1 for GW2, so i should be able to get it ^^.

As for your oscar nominee thing: “I would like to congrats the other listeners who wrote in with the songs they sang to get the prizes. I would like to thank the good people from relics of orr, for sending me a beautifull prizepack. I would like to thank my lovely girlfriend, for standing by me in hours of extreme nerdyness.

I would like to thank Tom Jones (not really :p), Nickelback, Sonata Arctica, System of a Down, the Lazlow Show and many others who kept me awake during extensive hours of GW-gameplay…. And finaly, i would like to thank my parental-unit for supplying me with all the booze and food so i hardly ever need to leave my room. THANK YOU!”

(PS. Please don’t ever call me “Cools” again :p)

“And here to announce the awards….”

“Thank you. Let’s get straight to it. In third place, the guy with the coolest last name we could find. Put your hands together for Tom – I have no idea what this crazy gobbledigook is – Cools!”

        *crowd erupts in rapture*

Stick to your guns and make Th!3f0f$oc!ety yours. It works nicely as a suffix if you manage to secure them all: eg Guardian of Society, Warrior of Society, Ranger of Society etc. with your main as a Thief of course. Kinda like what Jim does with his toons.

  4. Book

Got the art today. I very much appreciated the opportunity to participate and thank you all for the great prize(s).
