Relics in Beta Weekend 3 (Part 1: Jumping Puzzles)

One more video to add to our BWE3 collection. I’ve added it as the first video in the list since it is a collage. You may see some more PvP videos or jumping puzzles, but in case I can’t get around to it, I think this collage does a fine job of illustrating how our weekend went.
Well, another weekend of the Guild Wars 2 appetizers has come and gone. With the main course around the bend, but nothing to do in the meantime, our crew is spending its time putting together media that might help satisfy your itch for a little while.
Right now, I’ve been setting a bit of pace with some new videos that I’ve been putting together in my new video editing application called Lightworks Beta, and compiling footage of the jumping puzzles that we finished. I’m adding a post game narration just to help clarify what each jumping puzzle was about. If you find these videos helpful to you when you go to try these puzzles, or if you find them generally entertaining, do us a favor and share it around a bit please. Whichever social media site you use, show some love.

Again, I can’t reiterate enough how much fun we had during this BWE. I haven’t been this excited to play GW2 to date, and it’s all because of the people. Or.. the game helps a bit too, considering it’s sort of awesome.
Relics of Orr Beta Weekend Events

Hey ya Relics of Orr guildies, friends, fans, Luxon turtle enslavers and Kurzick tree huggers. This is Shongaqu here to let you know about what the Relics of Orr community will be getting into during the third Beta Weekend Event.
BORLIS PASS
Once again we will be venturing forth on the Borlis Pass server. With the increased player limit on each server it should be much easier to make this your home for the beta.
CITY TOURS!
With all the playable species home cities in the game the only major city we won’t have access to in the beta is Ebonhawke. To celebrate this and because I’m curious how much experience you can get by 100percenting all the cities I’ll be leading a tour of all six cities.
When: 10am pacific
Where: Starts at the Inn in the Rurick district of Divinities reach then continues on to Hoelbrak, The Black Citadel, Lion’s Arch, the Grove and finally Rata Sum.
JUMPING PUZZLES!
Like many elements of Guild Wars 2 the jumping puzzles are a ton of fun and are even better when you bring a friend or fifty. Throughout the weekend we’ll be organizing group runs through several of the jumping puzzles scattered throughout the game. To help us through Spirit, Relics of Orr’s own leaping lady, heroine of hopping, Patroness of Precision, Mistress of Mid-air Motion on our mumble server guiding us through the plethora of platforming pitfalls in our way. (Why yes, I do love puns and alliteration).
When: Throughout Saturday and Sunday
Where: wherever there are puzzles that require jumping.
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME KEG BRAWL?
Sunday night before the end of beta event meet up for a Relics of Orr Keg Brawl Extravaganza.
When: Sunday afternoon.
Where: Hoelbrak
Role Play?!?
Keep your eyes out for Hexxa Chell or The Apothecary. The dimension hopping duo have found their way onto a harmonic of tyria. Unfortunately their mist ship was stolen by members of the inquest. It they don’t retrieve it before the end of the beta they’ll be crushed by the tidal forces of the mists as the harmonic collapses in on itself.

Relics of Orr Episode 46, Release the Kraken

I am joined by Shongaqu from Tyrian Stories and Tigerfeet at the Secret Agent Cat blog to review the second Beta Weekend Event and stress test, plus the release date announcement (8/25/12 for prepurchasers and 8/28/12 for all others.)
We jumped into the realm of video and while we found that there are many kinks to be worked out, it’s a fair start. We’re reviewing a few other pieces of software to try out for the upcoming shows, and we can pretty safely guarantee that some of our newer ideas will not disappoint. Our next experiment will be the use of camera views of the hosts while discussing various topics, and playing the game during BWE 3. A podcast and gameplay commentary mixed together for a special sweetness. You hear that RO squad? Best be ready.

So I need a name for this little series I’ve been doing. Suggestions appreciated if I don’t come up with something soon. Something that suggests it might be helpful for newbies to the HoM achievement farming types. Anyway, I’ve tossed together a playlist on Youtube so that you can watch those videos specifically. And there will be more to come. Also, this weekend, we’ll be doing this sort of thing, but in Guild Wars 2. Enjoy.
